The Pickering Red Sox Midget Select baseball team travelled to Mississauga over the Civic holiday long week end to compete in the Mississauga Majors Select tournament. Pickering finished first in their division after round robin play.
In the semi finals Sunday afternoon, Scott Andersonp pitched five strong innings, allowing only three runs en route to a Pickering 14-3 win over the Brampton Red Sox.
In the championship game, Pickering battled with the Bloordale A's in an exciting game, coming out on top with an 11-10 win. Mark Waldon let the team with his second solid pitching performance of the tournament.
Coach Spigarelli credits strong hitting from top to bottom, along with solid defensive play as the keys to their success.

The Midget Division will be playing at Woodsmere Park and Kirkey Field on Mondays, and Wednesdays (please see park maps for exact location).
The Midgets will play exhibition games during the week of May 20th, here you will meet your coach, receive your schedules and uniforms. The regular season begins June 1. Coaches will contact players in early May.

Please let us know if you have any concern (parents, coaching, respect for rules). Umpires are the only impartial representative of the PBA on the field your expert opinions are very important to us. If you feel there may be cause for concern just let us know, give us a head's up. This information will be held in confidence and hopefully will prevent the need for an "Incident Report".
